Gen Z Co-Founders of Y Combinator-backed startup Alinea Bring “Playlist Investing” to Society of Saleswomen
Co-founders and former classmates Anam Lakhani and Eve Halimi are on a mission to make investing more inclusive and accessible to overlooked communities.
[Los Angeles, California] — In a study of 1000 Gen Z Americans, 33.7 percent said they do not invest in anything. Anam Lakhani and Eve Halimi are on a mission to change that.
“Working in a predominately male focused industry, we felt that the women in finance and Gen Z were being overlooked. We wanted to create a space where the newer generation can invest in causes they care about and feel safe in their investments,” Halimi said.
Lakhani and Halimi, both 2019 graduates of Barnard College, Columbia University, leveraged their experiences in finance and community-based applications to build Alinea, a smart investing app that allows users to invest in bundles of stocks, or “stacks,” based on a theme, cause, or strategy. The team is committed to showing that investing for the first time can be as simple and fun as creating a music playlist.
Alinea co-founders Lakhani and Halimi will share tips on how to start investing in “stacks” during a fireside conversation with Society of Saleswomen members. This digital event will take place on Wednesday, March 23rd from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. PDT. Attendees will gain access to an exclusive investing stack focused on issues that matter most to SoS members.
“We’re thrilled to host Alinea in our March SoS digital event, and we know our members will be inspired and motivated to leverage their newly learned tools to take control of their finances, generate passive income, and continuously improve their financial wealth,” SoS Co-Founder and CEO Cindy Truong said.
